Trees Close to End of Viability and Completely Deformed To Be Replaced with New Ones On Moskovyan, Tumanyan, Alek Manukyan, Sayat Nova, Ulnetsi Streets and Bagratunyats Avenue

The trees that are close to the end of their viability and completely deformed will be cut down and new ones will be planted in their place on Moskovyan, Tumanyan, Alek Manukyan, Sayat Nova, Ulnetsi Streets and Bagratunyats Avenue in Yerevan.

"Landscape Gardening and Environmental Protection" CNPO of Yerevan Municipality plans to carry out tree replacement works on these streets in the spring, as Artur Khalatyan, Deputy Director for "Landscape Gardening and Environmental Protection" CNPO informed about this in his interview with journalists.

Artsvi Grigoryan, Chief Botanist of "Landscape Gardening and Environmental Protection" CNPO, noted that many trees to be replaced have fungal diseases.

"There is a need to replace them with functional tree species. The existing trees do not perform whatever function is assigned to that tree. We are dealing with a small-leaved linden tree in Yerevan, which is close to the end of its life and does not perform its function at all,” Artur Khalatyan said and added, “They will be replaced with sakura trees on Moskovyan Street. "The lanes on Sayat-Nova Avenue, from France Square to Teryan Street, will be replaced with spherical planes," he noted. The trees will be replaced on Alek Manukyan and Tumanyan streets in the downtown.
