More than 94% of the works on the construction of Vedi reservoir and irrigation system in Ararat Region have been completed. At the session of September 14, 2023, the Government of the Republic of Armenia adopted a decision ensuring the process of putting Vedi reservoir into operation.
According to the rationale of the decision, as a result of the operation of the reservoir, the reliable irrigation of more than 3200 hectares of land in 8 settlements in Ararat Region will be ensured, as well as it will be possible to save about 19 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually. The reservoir will have a total volume of 29.4 million cubic meters.
Dead volumes of Azat and Aparan reservoirs will be used.
