"Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center" SNCO reworked the construction climatology norms. "There was a need to review the 10-year-old norms, taking into account the increasing rates of climate warming both in Armenia and around the world," Levon Azizyan, Director of Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center of RA Environment Ministry, said at the press conference on February 2.
"During 90 years of hydrometeorological observations, our 4 warmest years were 2010, 2018, 2021 and 2023. The absolute maximum temperature in Armenia was +43.7 degrees in 2011, and the maximum air temperature in the Ararat Valley exceeded +42 degrees in the summer of 2017-2018," Levon Azizyan said.
