Negative Phenomena of Global Warming in Yerevan and Regions

Negative phenomena of global warming continue to manifest in Armenia. On the night of August 30 nearly twice the normal amount of rainfall for the month of August fell in Yerevan. National Crisis Management Center of RA Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Yerevan received 670 alarms between 23:34 and 02:46 on August 31 related to short circuiting of electrical wires, clogging of culverts and manholes, as well as flooding.

"Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center" SNCO informs that the average monthly air temperature in September is predicted to be 1 degree above normal in the entire territory of the republic and warns about the expected high fire danger situation on September 2-7 in Shirak, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor foothills and in Ararat and Syunik Valleys.
