On April 22, the world celebrates Earth Day. This year’s theme is “Our Power, Our Planet.” The goal is to highlight the role of people in protecting the environment.

Victoria Burnazyan, Vice President of the “EcoLur” Informational NGO, and journalist Monika Yeritsyan marked Earth Day together with the students of Yerevan School No. 78 named after Hayrapet Hayrapetyan by conducting an awareness-raising event.

Victoria Burnazyan spoke to the students about the importance of the day, explaining how crucial it is to preserve the biodiversity of planet Earth, how climate change impacts biodiversity, and what natural disasters may occur under conditions of climate change and biodiversity loss.

Afterwards, through an environmental game, the students justified the importance of forest conservation from the perspectives of climate change mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and reduction of natural disaster risks.
