The Pan-Armenian Environmental Front has proposed Nature Protection Minister to examine the situation of Martz River. The letter addressed to the Minister says, “On 12 March 2013 the public hearings on the construction project of “Martziget” SHP were held at Martz Village Municipality. When watching the video on (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcXdFEUfc5g) it became clear that the villagers present at the hearings definitely opposed to this project, which they substantiated with the problems arising from the construction and operation of “Martziget-2” SHP, which has already been operating.  In this regard we propose:

1. To clarify, why the fish way didn’t operate and why the environmental flow of the river wasn’t preserved, as a matter of fact, leaving the whole river of 5.8 km without water.

2. To assess the damage caused to environment, river biodiversity and ecosystem.

3. To find whether or not there were tree felling during the construction and whether the felling was mentioned in the project documents.
