Problems of “Martziget-1” Small HPP Discussed around Greens Soup (Photos)

The environmental activists raised the problems of “Martziget-1” Small HPP gathering around greens soup. Reminder: on 7 April a group of environmentalists visited Martz Village, Lori Region, to show their support in villagers’ fight against the construction of a new SHP on the Martz River. The villagers oppose to the SHP construction, as the river had dried out. The same day they collected 260 signatures under the complaint letter, while the environmentalists promised to file it to the proper bodies. During the visit the idea of “Greens Party” was originated, which the activists held on 8 April in Mashtots Park.

“The initiative was launched in Martz, when we saw the greens and we decided we should gather the greens and present here to people what kind of problems Martz village has and how we can help Martz villagers to solve these problems in the pastime,” told “EcoLur” one of the initiative authors, Sona Margaryan. The soup was cooked by initiative member Hasmik Evoyan.
