In the frames of GEF 6 (Global Environmental Front) Armenia will be provided 7.9 million USD for implementing projects in climate change, biodiversity and soil conservation, as Information and Public Relations Department of Nature Protection Ministry informs.
Under this source, a cooperation committee meeting was held at Nature Protection Ministry with Global Environmental Fund. G. Hovhannisyan, Director of Environmental Project Implementation Unit of Nature Protection Ministry, presented GEF 6th call. The project proposals from Armenia must be submitted by the end of September in 2014 to be included in GEF 6.
During the meeting project proposals were presented, out of which 2 refers to climate change, 10 to the conservation of biodiversity, while 6 refer to the soil preservation, as well as project proposal submitted by the PIU of the Armenian Government, which is planned to be held together with Nature Protection Ministry.
