Hrazdan Cement Plant has stopped its operation to solve the technical problems having arisen in the plant, as Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body Press Secretary Vruyr Pepanyan told EcoLur.

Reminder: starting from 13 June the Hrazdan residents have been beating an alarm signal that the city had been covered with the emissions of Hrazdan cement plant. EcoLur had directed the alarm signal to Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body.

Under Vruyr Pepanyan, Hrazdan Cement Plant had informed the Inspection that some parts of several electrical filtering devices had broken down because of electricity fluctuations. The repair of these devices is possible only during stopping their operation, while it causes an increase in emission volumes. Now the operation of the plant is stopped to solve the existing problems. The plant also claims that vapours are emitted into environment and not dust or smoke.

The employees of Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body have visited the scene and are carrying out examinations on the spot.
