"Over the last two years the number of tourists increased by 18 percent in Lori region", said Lori regional governor Arthur Nalbandyan and stated that tourism is one of the important branches of economy development.

Note: In Lori region mining development is also promoted. Arthur Nalbandyan states that mining will not  hinder tourism development in the region, moreover, it can become a new branch of tourism.

"If you look at the developed European countries carefully you will see that there are many industrial centers where tourism develops simultaneously. There is even such kind of term as "industrial tourism". The exploited mines and tailing dumps became interesting places for tourists, but, of course, after being recultivated. Thus, we also work on it", said Lori regional governor.
In spite of the fact that the regional governor was not aware of the cyanide farm construction in the region, Arjut community, he is optimistic enough about that issue. "I don't know about the cyanide farm in Arjut, anyway I am inclined to the positions given by the ministries".

And Arthur Nalbandyan states about Teghout mine with satisfaction, "Teghout  justifies itself. It is one of the powerful organizations in the Republic of Armenia where the environmental projects were realized according to the international norms".
