“Heritage” Party will keep on strictly evaluating the environmental policy of the government. “We should find those iron straitjackets which we will have the government worn, so as it didn’t straight its hands to the left and to the right and didn’t behave like it wanted,” said Anahit Bakhshyan to EcoLur, National Assembly Deputy of the 2007 convocation from the “Heritage” party and candidate for the deputy at 2012 elections.
“Whenever the public protected environment, I supported them as I could. I would like to outline the movement for Garden of Dragons, where we, together with our colleagues, Zaruhi (Postanjyan) and Stepan (Safaryan) did our best to put an end to all that (we speak about the public fight against the illegal construction in the Garden of dragons in 2010). And the Garden of Dragons was a success. Not it’s turn for Mashtots Park. We are trying to be useful in supporting this initiative protecting Mashtots Park. We found out who these pavilions belong to, from when and how long and gave all the documents to the activists.”
In reply to EcoLur’s question whether there is any hope that the environmental policy of the government will change for the better, Anahit Bakhshyan said, “There is some hope. No matter what is going on, we will have such people in the government who are quite educated and respect the nature. Their children are still living in this country. I hope they won’t run away from here, consequently, they will realize that the smallest mistake to nature will refer to their grandchildren.”
