“Tree Killer Gevorg” this is how Eleonora Gabrielyan, Professor in Biological Sciences, who eye witnessed what was going on at Nalbandyan 106/1 called the site developer who started the devastation of the green yard. Her letter addressed to EcoLur says, “You can’t imagine what is going on in our yard. Under the lee of the police, they cut down all huge trees, amazing junipers and drove them away. We already don’t know where to phone and who to apply to. This is real barbarism. You can call this person tree killer Gevorg.”
In regard what happened, “We Are This City’s Owners” and “Our City” civic initiatives also called “barbarism” what happened on 30 May in the yard at Nalbandyan 106/1 and called Yerevan Municipality to responsibility. The statement particularly says, “…The municipality again violated the laws and destroys green yards. The residents are alone in their fight against a businessman’s unlawful actions and had to defend themselves…Having obtained several documents from the municipality, the site developer of the green yard allowed to apply violent actions towards residents and said obscene words. The police were silently observing all this illegality…”
