Although the profit from mining operations has short-term nature and these territories are left to us as dead zones, the Armenian government recognized this territory as a priority. EcoLur presents an extract from government program for 2008-2012, “Priority for industry development is considered to be mining industry, which has enormous potential for development…in this regard the government recognizes of particular significance:
- taking measures aimed at increasing mining,
- increasing the range of geoprospecting, which ensures the effective development of new mines.
At the same time, the environmental section of the government program says: “to set control over the recovery of natural resources and soil.”
