Nature Protection Ministry celebrated the World Environment Day at Museum of Nature, where Nature protection Minister Aram Harutyunayn awarded with gold medals for the contribution in nature preservation. Among those awarded with medals are National Coordinator of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Aram Gabrielyan, Director of Botany Institute of NAS RA Zhirayr Vardanyan, the acting director of Environmental Impact Monitoring Center Khachatur Gharabaghtsyan.
In his welcome speech the Minister said, 'We used to say that human being are the rulers of nature, then - part of nature. Now we think that human beings are nature users who bear responsibility for it.'
'For Sustainable Human Development' Association Chairman Karine Danielyan made the presentation of new 'Integral Assessment of Ecological State of Lake Sevan' publication.
