Under the conditions of “continuing drought” in Armenia, the government decided to increase water outlets from Lake Sevan up to 239.2 million cubic meters. The decision was adopted at the governmental meeting on 2 August. The goal set in the statement is the same - to ensure agricultural lands with water for irrigation from Hrazdan-Sevan irrigation tunnel. As of 2 August, already 204 million cubic meters have been let out of Sevan, which is more its previous norm of 169 millions by 25 million square meters. Time will show whether the established limit of 239.2 million cubic meters will be exceeded.
