The elections into the local self government in ecological hot spots are held with peculiarities inherent to these hot spots. On 9 September Mayor elections will be held in Kapan Town. The candidature is important for the current business. The town forming election in Kapan is Kapan Ore Processing Combine owned by Deno Gold Mining Company.
On the eve of the elections “Kapan Residents Determine Future of Kapan” has disseminated an open letter addressed to the administration of Canadian “Dundee Precious Metals” Company (owner of Deno Gold Mining Company). The letter particularly says: “On September 9th in LSGB `s elections two candidates are nominated in Kapan: Artur Atayan from ARF and Ashot Hayrapetyan member of ARP.
Last days events concern citizens of Kapan especially initiative members. The problem is not that candidates and their teams what will say against each other and where they’ll say, let them decide themselves it is our Kapan internal family affair. The problem is that foreigners are involved in Kapan political events
On September 2nd during the campaign of ARF member Artur Atayan and Canadian “Dundee Precious Metals” company’s owned mining industry in Kapan “Deno Gold Mining Company” are organizing concert with the participation of Tata Simonyan. We are not worried about the fact, that Artur Atayan the member of ARF organizes concert with the participation of Tata Simonyan (this is the accepted trick of the campaign) but we think it is unacceptable in this stage that foreign company or foreigner’s financial assistance to any candidate.
“The future of Kapan determines Kapanian” initiation requires Canadian “Dundee Precious Metals» company’s owned mining industry in Kapan «Deno Gold Mining Company”’s administration to avoid from any form of financial or other support to any candidate, otherwise, we will see it as a state, national security problem.”
