Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has approved the proposal to develop the soil management concept of the territory of the republic of Armenia. This issue was discussed at the meeting with the members of the Public Council with the Armenian President on 3 November. The Public Council has informed “Healthy Hrazdan” Initiative group in its reply letter.
As Hrazdan Aarhuc Center Coordinator Anahit Mnatsakanyan informs on www.aarhus.am website, the “Healthy Hrazdan” initiative has addressed a letter to the Chairman of the Public Council Vazgen Manukyan offering to suspend temporarily issuing permits for new metal mines in the country to set up a body comprising of appropriate specialists and environmentalists to examine the current processes going on in this field. The initiative has also proposed to develop a concept, which will coordinate all the regions in harmonization with the environmental problems.
