PM Tigran Sargsyan met with the participants of the protest demonstration in Los Angeles (USA). We present extracts from the video report about this meeting circulated on Facebook by the meeting participants. The protest demonstration was held by “Teghout Support Group” and was timed to the visit of Armenian delegation headed by PM Tigran Sargsyan.
Arthur Poghosyan, doctor, representative of Armenian Diaspora in the USA: “We are extremely concerned with the indifference of the Armenian government to the existing problems in the mining industry – risks of water and soil pollution…our environment is destroyed… it is destroyed on purpose due to adopted laws…400 mines are opened in small Armenia, 300 licenses have been issued for the land of Karabagh to be contaminated…We are grateful that we had a meeting with us and listen to us…Let them know our number is growing…We won’t allow this country to be fractioned into parts, though we live far…
Activist environmentalist Yeghia Nersisyan: “…The whole Diaspora will protect its country, built by all us and which is getting rid of Armenians…Just have a look what is going on in Qajaran, Teghout… Our Diaspora is awakening, and we are 8 millions…
PM Tigran Sargsyan: We are watching your actions…I’m glad it takes such a course in Armenia and in Diaspora…Options are set up for active society for them to raise the problems they are worried with.. These actions already have their positive results and state bodies have to take into consideration the public opinionи…You can mark your achievements in this field…Sure there are problems. But we are ready to sit and to tackle these issues…We are happy there are people among you who want to come to Armenia…I am willing to meet with you in Armenia …” Tigran Sargsyan said.
