The second public hearings were held on the construction project of a new cyanic plant by “Meghradzor Gold” Company in Meghradzor Village on 17 December. As Hrazdan Aarhus Center Coordinator and member of “Healthy Hrazdan” civic initiative Zhora Arakelyan told EcoLur, the project developers introduced some amendments in the original version of the project.
“One amendment refers to the cleaning station, which was missing in the first project. Secondly, our initiative, “Healthy Hrazdan” tabled a question, whether the closed cycle ensures complete isolation of emissions. Now the project lays down installation of filters. And thirdly, the company accepted the proposal on permanent monitoring,” said Zhora Arakelyan. When EcoLur asked, whether “Healthy Hrazdan” initiative agrees, in principle, with the construction project of a cyanic plant, if the tabled questions and proposals are accepted, Zhora Arakelyan answered their initiative, in essence, opposed to the cyanic plant.
Reminder: the first hearings on the project were held on 5 December. The minutes of the hearings were no drawn up on the same day. The same minutes were not presented during the second public hearings either.
