Human rights to health and healthy environment in Armenia are not complied with. These conclusions are made by “Transparency International” Anti-Corruption Center Deputy Director Sona Ayvazyan corroborated with numerous examples. The report was prepared in the frames of the public discussion of "Republic of Armenia National Strategy on the Protection of Human Rights" organized by the "Partnership for Open Society" Initiative in Yerevan. The protection of environmental rights is especially topical in the light of upcoming presidential election and election campaigns..In her interview with EcoLur Sona Ayvazyan, she particularly noted, “The environmental part of the election campaign of the incumbent president and the Republican Party of Armenia has never been so strong. The emphasis was always made on other components, that’s why there no big expectations. On the other hand, during his office the president is obliged to guarantee the enforcement of the constitution, enforcement of law in regard with what the election of his party is. He has certain commitments towards people. Unfortunately, I can’t see any positive steps, starting that no measures were taken to improve the electoral legislation and that people don’t trust in the elections. That is, there are no serious expectations. We’ll see what kind of promises will be given during the election campaign…”
