EcoLur

“Rio+20” national report says that 9700 ha has been handed to the mining industry in Armenia, out of which 1400 ha is designed for tailing dumps, meanwhile official figures submitted by National Statistical Service have been taken into account. The land areas are mainly taken from agriculture – pastures and meadows.  Nobody has calculated what the factual territory is left under tails and what’s the territory polluted with industrial wastes. It’s only known that Armenia has over 100 sorts of minerals, including nonferrous metals, rare and precious metals, copper, molybdenum, gold, lead, zinc, silver, aluminum etc. Energy and Natural Resources Ministry of Armenia is issuing new and new licenses for their extraction.
