Dalma Land User: They Seized Not only My House, But Also Mean of Living

For over two weeks Dalma land users have been protesting near Armenian President’s seat for Serzh Sargsyan to see and not to forget about their problem. On April 12 they were again on Baghramyan Avenue and conveyed their complaint to EcoLur.

“This territory is empty now and its property right was passed to Dalma Invest. My house is locater there, where I had been living for 17 years. It’s already four years since my house has been destroyed and now I’m living in a hut. My house has been destroyed and trees chopped down, a bus station has been built in the territory of my house, which used to be a green one. They seized not only my house, but also my mean of living,” Said Dalma land user Manvel Arzoyan, second-class disabled person.

“I’m a very old woman, and I have been cultivating my land areas for 3 years. Now I don’t even know whether or not my land has been sold, whether or not I should cultivate this land area. Let them give us our compensation,” said Srbuhi Grandma.

“My demand is as follows: I have been cultivating my land areas for so many years, let them either prolong my term of contract or sell my land area to me,” said Sargis Grigoryan.  

According to Dalma land users, despite the promises made by Yerevan Municipality they are not allowed either to purchase their land areas or they are not compensated. In this regard, “Dalma Sona” Fubd Chairman Ruzanna Kazaryan told EcoLur, “They say they will successfully and persistently complete the compensation process, but people are still waiting and they are many. Some of them were told not to come, as your problem won’t be dealt with.”

Reminder: Dalma land users have been fighting for their rights for over 10 years.
