Martz Village: Pits, Bumps and Holes on Roads, But Nobody Interested

“Green” activists were again in Martz Village already after the villagers had thrown the pipes into the gorge, which were designed for the construction of the irrigation system for the SHHP, the third one. We wrote much about this problem, as the villagers opposed to this project. But now we have to bring a minor digression from this problem. Movement participant Ruzanna Grigoryan shared her impressions on Facebook, “…The rain started and the whole village was flooded with water. The roads have pits, bumps and holes on the roads…No light….People have been living here for years and nobody cares of them. People here climb up the mountains, pasture cattle and gather honey, they get ill, lose their teeth and get old. Houses get destroyed, windows are broken, the wind blows out the buildings, but they keep on living. Living a simple and clean live, but a rather difficult one. We have the same situation in many villages, but nobody is interested. 36% of our population is poor,” the statistics say. The statistics says very little, while you won’t see what is hidden behind it…I think maybe their children won’t live here in these houses and maybe this depends on us? ON ANY OF US?" writes Ruzanna Grigoryan.
