The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will grant two sovereign loans of 5.4 million Euros to Armenia to improve the water supply for 1.1 million population of Yerevan. As the official website of the Armenian Government says, “The project will be implemented by Yerevan water system operator, “Yerevan Jur” CJSC, which will support the improvement of the water network in the city improving water availability and reducing water losses. As a result, poorly deteriorated sections of water distribution network will be rehabilitated, the water supply network pipes will be replaces, as well as new water meters will be placed.”
The loan agreement was signed after the meeting of PM Tigran Sargsyan and the delegation headed by EBRD Chairman Suma Chakrabarti at the government on 19 July.
