The process of seizing public territories in Yerevan is in full swing after the elections. Yerevan residents are seeking to protect their yards, trees, gardens and historical and cultural monuments, but to no avail. The construction areas are full of site developers under the protection of the police. Yerevan has turned into a battle field between the residents and the authorities.
“Barev Yerevan” Faction leader Anahit Bakhshyan raised the question of seizing land areas in the city in front of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan at the Aldermen’s Council. What the mayor answered and what kind of reply actions “Barev Yerevan” will take? Whether they will join the police of protestors or they will restrict themselves with statements and open letters? Whether the public protest has chances to turn into a revolution? Who will “Heritage” support? EcoLur Press Club will host Anahit Bakhshyan and Stepan Safaryan, “Barev Yerevan”, who will answer these and other questions, as well as the resident of the seized area for construction purposes (Amiryan 24) Ani Mandalyan. The press conference will be held at 11:00 on 8 November at EcoLur Press Club (49 Hanrapetutyan st.).
