The struggle between Litchq community residents and “Technoman” LLC is continuing. The company is going to develop the mine of mineral water in the territory of mineral water spring in Litchq. Litchq community residents insist that haven’t given their consent to this project, while the community head has signed the document due to his ignorance. “Environmental Expertise” SNCO of Nature Protection Ministry has granted a positive opinion to this project and closed the deal.
“The community head has been submitted completely another project submitted with the mining of carbon dioxide. The community head’s signature and seal stand under the documents, nevertheless, the village head said definitely he hadn’t seen these documents before and he hadn’t given any consent in regard with the mine,” Gavar Aarhus Center Coordinator Liana Asoyan said during the public discussions at the rural administration building in Litchq Village. "Under the villagers, they were intimidated with the police, the police head’s name was spread, names of top officials, and even president’s name to get what they want,” she said.
"There are people, who say, if the president has some kind of connection here, I don’t want to be taken to the Criminal Investigation Department. They intimidate people with the president’s name,” Litchq resident said.
"I can confirm that at first they give the police head’s name, they his deputy’s name, then they said this project was under the protection of the president,” said “Litchq” initiative group member Ashot Okhikyan.
"Let’ not cover the president’s name. It’s like a child does something in the family, whether its parents are aware?” said Litchq village head Gnel Grigoryan. Under him, "another land area was discussed. At first I was even happy that working places would appear and people would be able to get employed. There was no mention about the other well.”
The representatives from Nature Protection Ministry and “Technoman” LLC had also been invited to the discussions, nevertheless, they didn’t turn up. The community residents reached a decision to address an open letter to RA Police Head and President about the illegal events happening in their community.
