The executive body of Armenia is quickly implementing the destructive project of Yerevan road construction. On 9 December 2013 the meeting of the governance board for North-South Corridor and Sustainable Urban Development Investment Program was held at the government presided by Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan. The board approved that the tender documents are drawn up to implement the construction works for the reconstruction (enlargement) of Arshakunyats Avenue, Yerevan, in the frames of “Sustainable Urban Development Investment Program (Tranche 1)” loan agreement. Under this, 114 land areas will be alienated with a total area of 35,257.53 sq. meters. A total of 3,568 fruit trees will be cut down, while Artashat community will lose 81% of all fruit trees. 38 buildings will be destroyed (2005.94 sq. meters).
