In 2013 1435 children were born in Syunik, and 1222 people died. The increase in the regional population made up 1.5 ppm, which the figure for the last year made up 8.8 ppm. As specialists assess, the birth rate in the regions is gradually decreasing year by year. As compared with 2012, the number of births in 2010 reduced by 131. The reduction was mainly recorded in Meghri and Kapan regions, while significant increase in the birth was recorded in Qajaran area.
