A solar photovoltaic power station of 43 kW has been put into operation in Vayq community, Vayots Dzor Region, which serves Vayq Municipality, kindergartens # 1 and # 2, House of Culture, Library, and Art School. The total cost of construction and installation of the station was about 15 million AMD. Vayq Municipality allocated 7 million AMD for the construction of the station. The remaining 8 million 485 thousand drams were provided by the Armenian Government.
Gagik Muskambaryan, secretary of the Vayq Municipality, told EcoLur: “Specialists have assured if they spend 5 million drams, they will have at least 4 million drams of savings. The numerical savings would then be about 80 percent.”
