Over 626 Million Damage Caused to Nature Due to Violations Detected in 17 HPPs

RA Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body summed up the work performed in 2021, as we learn from the video made by Public TV. According to the video, the inspection body carried out 213 inspections in 2021, out of 142 which were not planned. 2055 violations were found, 1016 administrative proceedings were initiated, 1116 administrative penalties were imposed.

In 2020, the amount of damage to the environment exceeded 1.5 billion AMD, and an administrative fine of about 76 million AMD was imposed. In 2021, the amount of damage done to nature increased by 16% to about 2 billion AMD. An administrative fine of 101 million AMD was imposed.

In 2021, more than 626 million AMD of damage was estimated to the environment due to violations detected in 17 large and small hydropower plants, and an administrative fine of about 3.5 million AMD was imposed.

8 inspections were carried out in different forestry enterprises "ArmForest" and a loss of 65 million AMD was calculated.
