It is planned to build a new pressurized steel diversion feed pipe with a total length of 364 m, to install a turbine unit with a capacity of 600 kW with its electrical connections in the existing HPP building, to reconstruct and repair the water system to remove the water from the HPP building.
"Ler&Jur" LLC intends to equip “Tchitchkhan” SHPP by almost tripling the installed capacity from 605 kW to 1500 kW, the calculated output - 1.3 cubic meters per second instead of the current 0.8 cubic meters per second. The company has submitted to Environment Ministry an application for a preliminary environmental impact assessment of the upgrade of “Tchitchkhan” SHPP, whereas the second round of its public discussions will take place on February 11, 2022 at 12:30 pm in Shirakamut Municipality building.
“Tchitchkhan” SHPP will have the following hydropower indicators after the re-equipment: the projected output will be 1500 kW, the static pressure will be 96.7 m, the calculated output will be 1.3 cubic meters per second, the average annual amount of electricity produced will be 3.4 million kWh.
Under the project, it is planned to build a new pressurized steel diversion feed pipe with a total length of 364 m, to install a turbine unit with a capacity of 600 kW in the existing building of the HPP with its electrical connections, to reconstruct and repair the water drainage system. The company plans to complete the work in ten days.
Under the project, the SHPP has an installed capacity of 605 kW, static pressure is 96.7 m, calculated output 0.8 cubic meters per second, calculated pressure 95.2 m. The company was still licensed to generate electricity by the Public Services Regulatory Commission for a period of 15 years in 2006. According to the draft decision of the commission in 2021, it was decided to extend the license of "Ler&Jur" company for 15 years until 2035. The environmental output is defined by the current legislation by months, and the minimum is 0.20 cubic meters per second, the maximum is 0.96 cubic meters per second.
The conclusion was provided on the condition of mandatory fulfillment of the following expert requirements:
- Ensure a water intake point with a water meter and a sealed water meter,
- Ensure the quantities of water defined by the water use permit, the water use regime and its period, without hindering the irrigation of the community.
