Wind Potential To Be Assessed in Armenia for Construction of 500 MW Wind Power Plants by 2024 and Construction Program of 120 MW 5 Solar Power Plants To Be Implemented

The Government of the Republic of Armenia has set the main priorities and development directions of energy saving and renewable energy in Armenia until 2030.

At the meeting held on March 24, the Government of the Republic of Armenia approved "Energy Saving-Renewable Energy Program for 2022-2030" and the program-schedule ensuring the implementation of the first phase (2022-2024) of "Energy Saving-Renewable Energy Program for 2022-2030".

According to the substantiation of the project, the implementation of the program will contribute to the increase in Armenia's energy independence, security level and reliability of the energy system.

Wind Potential To Be Assessed in Armenia for Construction of 500 MW Wind Power Plants by 2024 and Construction Program of 120 MW 5 Solar Power Plants To Be Implemented. And for the accumulation of surplus electricity until July 2024, the possibilities of using hydrogen energy technologies will be estimated, which will cost 500 million AMD.

The program also envisages the introduction of a new public transport route network in Yerevan, promotion of the use of electric vehicles in Armenia, research for the issuance of "Green" bonds, localization (nationalization) of the Sustainable Development Goals framework on the 7th Sustainable Development Goal, etc.
