RA Environment Ministry issued a positive conclusion to the environmental impact assessment opinion on the construction of a solar photovoltaic power plant by "Art Solar" LLC in Shoghakat community, Gegharkunik Region:
The planned capacity of the solar plant is 3.22 MW. The station will occupy an area of 5.46 hectares. The planned activity area is located 300 m from the economic zone of "Sevan" National Park, 2.5 km from Lake Sevan.
7,488 single-crystal LR5-72HBD model photovoltaic modules with a maximum power of 535 W and a 20.9% EGR of Longi Solar production were selected.
The opinion on hazardous waste management says: "The generated waste will be collected at the temporary storage of hazardous waste in the territory, after which it will be given to the licensed organization. The faulty ones will be replaced with new ones and will be moved to the territory of the licensed organization. Neither the name of the organization nor the intended area is specified.
In particular, the expert assessment requirements mention that before the construction works, it is necessary to carry out an archaeological study, not to bury or collect the panels containing photo elements in landfills in an open state, to carry out the accumulation or storage of waste outside the residential areas.
