"Digidata" LLC intends to build a 5 MW solar photoelectric power plant in Gagarin settlement of Sevan community, Gegharkunik Region. The company has submitted to Environment Ministry the preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) application of the plant construction. On October 3, 2023, the second public discussion on the EIA application will take place at the residence of Administrative Head of Gagarin settlement of Sevan community.
Under the EIA application, the main part of the land requested for the solar plant is mountain black soil. The company has planned 7,500,000 AMD for reclamation.
It should be noted that the planned activity area is located 2.5 km from Sevan Lake, adjacent to Masrik River, the operational significance of the area is energy. The area allocated for the construction of the station makes up 6.1 ha.
According to the document, the construction of the station will last about 8 months, during which the possibility of cutting trees will be excluded.
1,100,000 AMD will be allocated for monitoring and prevention of environmental impacts.
