On the right side of the road running to Martz in Tumanyan Community, ''Martziget SHPP 2'' and Gas Station are operating next to each other. On 20 June, in the frames of 'Support to SHPP-relating reforms through the dialogue of public and RA Nature Protection Ministry for Sustainable Use of River Ecosystems” project, the working team paid a visit to ''Martziget SHPP 2'', but owner Seyran Darbinyan didn't allow to enter the building, despite prior arrangement about the visit. The owner substantiated his decision that he can't ensure our safety in the SHPP area, but the most important reason he gave, he doesn't want to deal with NGOs. And, indeed, safety standards in the area are violated, as a proper distance between two hazardous objects  -  gas station and a SHPP, is not adhered to. On the other hand, the SHPP is only in a distance of several meters from the residential houses and the residents have to listen to the noise of SHPP equipment 24 hours a day. In their interview with EcoLur the villagers said that they can't sleep at night because of the noise. 'I got deaf,' one of Tumanyan residents said. 'We asked the resident whether they had given their consent to have such a structure near their houses, but Tumanyan resident replied, 'None of  them asked us. Who listens to us?'.'

Going 6 km up the Martz riverbed you can find the head station of ''Martziget SHPP 2''. The construction of the SHPP head section caused shift in the riverbed making it a lake, while the fish pathway though allows abundant water within, is not suitable for fish migration. Thus, the social impact of ''Martziget SHPP 2'' can be assessed as unsatisfactory.
