Geghhovit Village with 6668 villagers, Gegharkounik Region, faces the problem of water in the irrigation season.
“The Martuni River flows through the village, the Argitchi River flows next to it, and the village experiences problems with water, as the SHPPs take all the water,” Geghhovit villager told EcoLur. In reply to the question, how the rural municipality responds to this problem, the villager said, “The water problem doesn’t depend on the village head, the villager head is not that influential to solve it, SHPP owners are much influential, that’s it.”
According to the official data, Geghhovit Village has around 900 ha of privatized pastures. Martuni and Argitchi Rivers flow into Lake Sevan.
