“Supporting reforms in the sector of small hydro power plants through enabling a dialogue between civil society and the Ministry of Nature Protection for sustainable use of river ecosystems” handbook has been published. On 21 June, at the American University of Armenia, the presentation of the handbook was held, as well as the summary of the program.
The handbook is the monitoring results of 87 SHPPs constructed on 48 rivers and 3 water springs, detected problems, river load with SHPPs, fish world of the rivers, proposals on the improvements in SHPP sector addressed to Nature Protection Ministry, Energy and Natural Resources Ministry, Territorial Governance and Development Ministry, Ministry for Emergency States, Energy and Natural Resources Ministry, Urban Development Ministry, Public Service Regulatory Committee and Development Bank.
“Supporting reforms in the sector of small hydro power plants through enabling a dialogue between civil society and the Ministry of Nature Protection for sustainable use of river ecosystems” project has been implemented by “EcoLur” Informational NGO and Nature Protection Ministry with the support of UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme.
