

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case carried out by on official negligence of the officials of Tumanyan Forestry of "ArmForest" SNCO under Article 315 (1&2) of RA Criminal Code has been accomplished.
Based on the obtained evidence, it was substantiated that Tumanyan forestry enterprise forester, head, and engineer, being ex officio obliged to take preventive measures, such as control over illegal logging and other violations of RA forest legislation, and, if necessary, draw up forest violation reports, submit them to the forester within the set time, check the documents authorizing the procurement of timber, other types of forest use, and establish control over their implementation by forest users, who have not properly fulfilled their responsibilities.
In particular, they did not regularly visit the aforementioned forestry, as a result of which a subsequent inspection revealed 344 cases of illegal felling of trees in three guard posts of Dsegh section of Tumanyan Forestry Branch. As a result, the flora incurred a particularly large amount of damage in the amount of over 30,000,000 AMD.
The prosecutor supervising the lawfulness of the preliminary investigation of the criminal case confirmed the indictment and sent the criminal case to Court of First Instance of Lori Region for the trial on merits.
The property belonging to the persons involved as defendants was seized as compensation for the damage caused to the state. The prosecutor has filed a civil lawsuit in court under the scope of criminal procedure law to confiscate the damage caused to the state, as RA Prosecutor's Office informs.
Notice: Every person suspected in or charged with a criminal offense shall be presumed innocent unless proved guilty in the manner prescribed by RA Criminal Procedure Code and unless the verdict comes into legal force.
