To make the afforestation and forest cover restoration works in Armenia more effective "My Forest Armenia" Environmental NGO, "Shen" Charity NGO and "ATP" Charity Foundation founded Forest Alliance of Armenia.
It will support Armenia in achieving its ambitious commitment to double forest cover by 2050 under the INDC within the frameworks of 2015 UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
On November 1, 2022, the presentation of “Forest Alliance of Armenia” Foundation took place.
Hayk Minasyan, Chair of the board of "Shen" Charity NGO NGO, noted that the alliance will deal with the issues of land allocation for afforestation. Hayk Minasyan emphasized that it will be very important and useful if the state publishes a map of areas subject to afforestation. "If it happens, I think that the goal of all of us in this field will be attained," he said.
Antre Gumushjian, Founding Director of "My Forest Armenia" Environmental NGO, noted that the alliance will act in favor of forest protection and sustainable management.
