"In 2024, the capital's green areas were expanded by 13 hectares, public parks were restored, a 32-kilometer irrigation network was built, 151 air quality measuring devices were installed, drainage systems were improved, a new water treatment plant was launched, and river cleaning works were organized," Aneta Babayan, Acting Director of Yerevan Construction Investment Programs Implementation Office, presented at the Yerevan Aldermen's Council meeting on March 18.
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan noted that the tree cover in the newly created green areas is 95 percent. “Over the past 3 years, Yerevan Municipality has created 45.8 hectares of green areas,” said Tigran Avinyan.
