On May 22, International Day for Biological Diversity, nine Caucasian red deer were released into the wild in the forests surrounding the village of Yeghegnut, Lori Region. Some of the deer have already been caught on residents' cameras.
"Recently, the deer released into the wild near Yeghegnut have begun freely roaming the hills and forests surrounding the village. Villagers are now encountering them more frequently," public journalist Mane Hakobyan posted "Voice of Public Journalists" Facebook platform.
It should be noted that the radio collars placed on the deer will allow rangers and eco-patrol officers to monitor their movements and ensure their safety.
