Information and Public Relations Department of Vallex Group Company has disseminated a press release, which denies the news that “Armenian Cooper Program' (ACP) CJSC employees continue receiving letters on dismissal. Vallex Group informs, 'Since 19 October 2018, Alaverdi Copper Smelting Plant owned by “Armenian Cooper Program' (ACP) CJSC (hereinafter the Company) has stopped the operation of the metallurgic workshop for the known reasons. At the same time, all the employees were dispatched notifications on terminating their employment contracts based on redundancy. The notification had been handed to the company employees by the end of October 2018. According to the notifications made, the termination of employment relations is planned to be made after 24 December 2018 within 5 days. In November-December 2018, including the moment of disseminating this press release, no new notification has been issued on the termination of agreements. Vallex Group informs:
- taking into consideration that currently the company administration, with the interested participation of the Armenian Government, continues deep and comprehensive studies having launched still three years ago on constructing a new and environmentally safe contemporary copper smelting plant in Armenia within the frames of the Armenian-Chinese cooperation to ensure the continuity of copper smelting in Alaverdi,
- Attaching importance to the economic stability in Armenia, especially taking into consideration the social state of the population in Alaverdi Town and region, seeking to avoid creating new social tension in the region on the eve of New Year, President of Vallex Group Company has assigned to prolong the termination of the employment contracts for two months, based on which the company employees will receive new notifications on termination of their employment contracts starting from 28 February 2019.
