On 19 April, with its first reading, the National Assembly of Armenia voted for the legislative package on the identification of the real owners of the companies operating metallic mines in Armenia: the package has been submitted by the Armenian Government.
97 MPs voted for making amendments into the relevant laws of the Republic of Armenia.
This is one of the requirements of the EITI: in 2019, a relevant register shall be established so as the companies can submit documents about their real owners with relevant confirmations and the signatures of competent people. The companies shall submit the names of the owners possessing 10% of shared and over. The percentage of shares is not set for acting politicians.
