On October 23, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia adopted in the first reading the bill “On Making Amendments and Supplements to Code of the Republic of Armenia on Mining” submitted by the Government. The revised version of the Code proposes to consider the sole and collegial management bodies of the soil management company as real owners.

The bill also proposes a number of other amendments such as amendments in terms of the permit for geological exploration of the soil, the procedure and terms of issuance of one-time permit for non-metallic mineral extraction, the procedure for granting the permit for non-metallic mineral extraction for construction or operation of important underground storage facilities.
