The Armenian government plans to set a state duty for issuing export licenses for copper concentrate, molybdenum concentrate and ferromolybdenum. For this purpose, at the July 12 special sitting, the executive approved RA draft law "On Making Amendments to Law of the Republic of Armenia"On State Duty".
The aim of the legislative change is to create, develop and produce cleaner, ecologically safe technologies in the field of non-ferrous metallurgy of Armenia under the conditions of high price demand in the world market. It is expected that the proposed licensing rates will apply only in the high price ranges of these metals, and later, depending on changes in demand for these metals in the world market (for example, the threshold price of copper at $ 7,500, and in the case of molybdenum - not exceeding $ 20,000) the proposed rates will be revised downwards).
The goal is to modernize the sphere.
· Deepen the value chain of copper processing by initially establishing the production of high purity cathode copper, and then promoting the rapid development of the ecosystem of related products.
· Promote more efficient mining and increase the productivity of existing mines by introducing new technologies.
· Promote a more environmentally responsible mining industry by minimizing harmful emissions.
