Company Violated Soil Management Contract: Around Damage of 20 Million AMD Caused to Environment

"N" company carried out a geological study in Otevan tuff zone in Aragatsotn Region in order to extract minerals in a 6.8-hectare land violating several clauses of the soil management agreement and the requirements of RA Land Code. As General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia informs, according to the mentioned contract, a mountain mass was demolished and displaced in the area outside the site instead of 300 cubic meters of experimental extraction works allowed in the attached schedule of geological survey works during 2019, no land reclamation was carried out until September 1, 2020. The land used for landscape restoration was not covered with soil, as a result of which agricultural land was degraded to pasture, causing a total damage of 19,594,291 AMD to the state, which was completely restored.

Under the judicial control of RA Aragatsotn Region Prosecutor's Office, a criminal case was initiated in Talin Investigation Division Regional Investigation Department under Article 290 (1) of RA Criminal Code.
