Meeting in Sisian for Development of Socio-Ecological Policy

Irrational development of natural resources and environmental pollution by hydropower plants and mining enterprises operating in Sisian enlarged community, Syunik Region, hinder the development of the community. Sisian residents and the representatives of the local self-government body (local self-government) expressed their readiness to participate in the development of the community's socio-ecological policy, which will improve the socio-ecological situation of the local population and use the community's funds expediently.

In Sisian and Shaqi village, the team of "Social and Ecological" consortium introduced to the population and the representatives of the local self-government "the data collection tool-measure for the assessment of the socio-ecological policy", through which the data on the socio-ecological condition of the community should be collected. The database created within the framework of "Social and Ecological Responsibility" project will serve as a basis for the development of socio-ecological policy.

The residents promised to be actively involved in data collection in the coming months to develop the necessary socio-ecological policy for the community.
