During 2022, Damage Caused to Environment Due to Violations by Soil Managers Exceeded 199 Million made

Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body (EPMIB) conducted 81 inspections in the direction of soil management and subsoil protection control in 2022, as EPMIB informs. According to the press release, the inspections have increased by 285.7 and 22.7%, compared to the previous years 2020 (21 inspections) and 2021 (66 inspections), respectively.

As a result of the completed 81 inspections, 446 cases of criminal offenses were found (2021-366, comparative increase in 2021-21.8%). A decision was reached to impose 203 administrative fines (88 in 2021, 17 in 2020, a comparative increase of 130.7% in 2021, 1094.1% in 2020). The amount of the fine imposed by the decisions made up 20,290,000 AMD (2021-15,770,000 AMD, 2020-2,200,000 AMD, comparative increase 2021-28.7%, 2020-822.3%)

The calculated amount of compensation for the damage caused to the environment was 199,278,261 AMD (2021-166,759,721 AMD, 2020-39,722,119 AMD, comparative increase in 2021-19.5%, 2020-401.7%).
