ZCMC Predicts Reduction in Dust Emissions With Installation of New System

The fourth public discussion on the EIA of the activities of "Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine" CJSC "Change of the mineral extraction project of Qajaran copper-molybdenum mine in Syunik Region, Republic of Armenia (construction of the automated railway system for the transportation of sliding mountain mass (SARD-1200) and the change of the final edge of the open pit)" report will be held at Qajaran Palace of Culture at 14:00 on May 31, 2023.

The mine's automated railway system for transporting bulk rock mass is designed to carry out round-the-clock transportation of bulk rock in the open pit area.

According to the report, the planned activities will ensure the reduction of emissions and dust. In particular, it is predicted that the amount of dust emitted as a result of loading and unloading of loose rocks will be reduced from 42 t/t to 21 t/t, and the amount of dust emitted during the transportation of loose rocks by 167.31 t.

As of 01.01.2022, the remaining balance reserves of minerals provided to the company are 415575160 tons of ore, 832313,920 tons of copper, and 156168,276 tons of molybdenum. According to the EIA report, 22 million tons of ore will be extracted annually in the open pit, and the average annual volume of capping works will be 5,552.0 thousand cubic meters.
