At the meeting on 20 May the Government decided to issue licenses for the prospecting of oil and gas in the territory of Armenia on a competitive basis. According to the official website of the Armenian Government, this decision is conditioned by the fact that gas and oil are strategic raw materials for the country and during the contest the projects and economic potential submitted by the companies will be focused on.
